Super Anchor had repeated demand for their D-ShakL2 anchor to be installed with lag bolts. Critical testing of lag bolts has determined that you have 2 options for installing using Lag Bolts and our WS Series Screws.

  • Lag Bolts: You can utilize 2 ea. 18-8 SST 3/8”x3.0” lag bolts into the center of the truss/rafter over a sheeted roof, wood beam or structure capable of withstanding the intended loads. Holes must be pre-drilled as per the D-ShakL2 addendum. Super Anchor offers two packages of lag screws for the anchor.
  • WS Screws: You can use 2 ea. WS 3.5” screw through the 5/16” fastener holes in the D-ShakL2 anchor as seen in Fig. 5A in the D-ShakL2 addendum page. Anchor must be installed over a fully sheeted roof, wood beam or structure capable of withstanding the intended loads. No pre-drilling is necessary when using the WS Screws.

Lag Screw specifications are listed in the D-ShakL2 addendum page. Super Anchor is only specifying that a stainless steel 18-8 3/8”x3.0” or 18-8 ½”x3.0” be used to install the anchor. Pre-drilling the holes is mandatory. Do not substitute with shorter, longer, zinc coated or hot dip galvanized lag screws.

When installed with the above specified fasteners you can use the anchor for 1 person in fall arrest with a 30-degree service zone from each side of the anchor. When used in fall restraint you can apply the load in any direction when no free fall hazards are present.
